About The Position

KBR's Mission Engineering Division provides advanced technical solutions and support to the U.S. Department of War, focusing on areas like modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. As a key partner in mission technology, KBR develops innovative solutions for its clients. The company emphasizes data security, privacy, and responsible information management. KBR is looking for an experienced Splunk Engineer/System Analyst to join the Joint Technical Integration (JTDI) Program. This role requires a Top-Secret Clearance and proximity to Lexington Park/Patuxent River Naval Air Station to support the SIPR Splunk Environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Joint Delivery Management System (JDMS) application, a Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) product used for delivering technical and maintenance data to NAVAIR aviation Mission Partners across NIPR and SIPR networks. This specific position will focus on the SIPR sustainment of JDMS and its associated Splunk configuration, including dashboards, alerts, notifications, and queries.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Must work in our SIPR Work Location: Patuxent River Naval Air Station SIPR Lab.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or IT-related degree. Additional experience is accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Security+ certification
  • Active/Current Top-Secret Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of Python, CSS, and PowerShell or Linux Shell.
  • Support and integration experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Ability to work with Azure and Scrum methods.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell and Linux Shell Scripting
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)

  • Some knowledge of Containerization using OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Some knowledge Java Runtime Environment (JRE) & Microsoft .NET framework

Responsibilities

  • Work in support of JTDI AWS GovCloud SIPR Enterprise.
  • Receive, analyze, and deliver requirements for Splunk services such as dashboards, alerts, notifications, and queries.
  • Sustain and configure dashboards, portlets, applications, and more.
  • Perform engineering work in developing an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints, including mass, cost, and schedule.
  • Design and/or research subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
  • Perform functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back into the subsystem development teams.
  • Execute specific engineering assignments under the direction and guidance of higher-level engineers.
  • Carry out predetermined concepts and procedures for equipment or interface design, testing, construction and installation, engineering research, and study programs.
  • Work within a Sensitive Compartment Information Facility (SCIF) to support SIPR activities for Splunk and JDMS Sustainment.
  • Leverage JTDI tools to maintain configuration management (CM) and troubleshoot issues.
