About The Position

Lifeguards work closely with slide attendants in the safe operation of our slides and water attractions for the enjoyment of our guests. If you are committed to safety, have a sharp eye, love the water, have a Lifeguard Certification, and enjoy taking part in making the day fun--and safe--for our guests, then Splashtown is for you!

Requirements

In compliance with the State of Maine and slide manufacturer guidelines, applicant must be at least 16 years old to operate water attractions here at Funtown Splashtown USA (with the exception of lifeguard certified minors).
Lifeguard Certified required and CPR certification preferred.
A successful applicant will have strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude who is able to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe attraction
Perform pre-operation safety checks at the opening of the slide and after any power failure or emergency shutdown.
Understand and follow all emergency protocols.
Monitor and enforce the safety of riders during all aspects of slide operation
Monitor slide and pools continuously while in operation.
Follow all policies and procedures of slide operation
Monitor pools for guests clearing the exit of a slide.
Maintain focus and operate the attraction using designated controls as instructed, in an efficient manner.
Close attraction during weather, other safety shutdowns, and at park closing time.
Communicate with Unit 1 or supervisor using a portable radio as necessary.
Provide and maintain a safe, fun, and clean guest friendly atmosphere.
Monitor pools and slide run-outs for any guest in trouble.
Rescue or provide assistance to any guests as needed.
Provide assistance to guests needing medical attention until a park EMT arrives.
Assist EMS as needed.
Be attentive to guests needs.
Be able to assist guests or find someone that can.
Verify correct bracelet color of the day and bracelet type.
Lifeguards may also fill slide attendant positions as needed. All duties and responsibilities of that position apply in those instances.
Comply with all policies and procedures of Funtown Splashtown USA
Follow all policies and procedures of the Department.
Maintain professional appearance following all uniform guidelines.
Attend all required department, interdepartmental, and park trainings.
You may be assigned to other duties as necessary.
