About The Position

The Spiritual Life Coordinator - Middle School is responsible for fostering a Jesus-centered culture, promoting unity, and creating a vibrant environment where students and adults can thrive. This role involves leading worship, investing pastorally and spiritually in students and adults, developing relevant messages and content for chapels and spiritual life events, and supporting the school community through communication, relationships, and prayer. The coordinator will also demonstrate a commitment to discipleship, challenging individuals to grow in heart and skill, and celebrating their God-given gifts. Professional responsibilities include building strong partnerships with parents, contributing to the school's well-being, assisting administration, collaborating with colleagues, and seeking professional growth.

Requirements

  • Must be a born-again Christian.
  • Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible.
  • Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and Statement of Conduct.
  • Must possess Biblical knowledge and the ability to integrate Scripture into subject matters taught.
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and in an Internet/online environment; ability to quickly learn and use different software applications.
  • Displays a personal decorum that models professionalism, modesty, and good taste.
  • Models Christian virtues in attitude, speech, and action.
  • Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23).
  • Models and cultivates habits of prayer, faith, and encouragement in self and others.
  • Participates and contributes to staff devotions and prayer.
  • Commits and contributes to a local church.
  • Possesses a solid and growing knowledge of the Scripture and Christianity.
  • Maintains good attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Centers on living out the mission of the school, building a Jesus-centered culture, fostering unity among all ages and groups, and instilling a vibrant, life-giving environment where people can thrive.
  • Leads in a manner that promotes a culture of worship throughout each day across the campus that honors the Lord in all things and ushers students into God’s presence.
  • Invests pastorally and spiritually in students and adults (e.g., chapel planning, groups, events, etc.), fostering an environment of learning, growth, courage, and humility.
  • Draws from Scripture, biblically based texts, and people within and outside of this community to ensure rich and relevant messages and content for weekly chapel and other spiritual life endeavors.
  • Supports the school community through effective communication, intentionality in relationships and building rapport, representing God’s heart, and serving as a prayer warrior and resource for spiritual growth.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ensure that the LCS culture of worship and learning challenges people to grow in heart and skill individually, and celebrates their God-given gifts and passions.
  • Builds strong partnerships with parents.
  • Engenders parental support and trust.
  • Communicates with parents regularly and effectively.
  • Contributes to the general well-being and improvement of the school.
  • Assists Administration in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with colleagues.

  • Completes other tasks assigned by Administration.
  • Participate in meetings, devotions, professional learning community and Inservice as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Coordinate MS chapel in collaboration with the Elementary spiritual formation coordinator.
  • Coordinate speakers for MS assemblies/concerts (Christmas, graduation, etc.) in collaboration with administration.
  • Maintain visible presence before/after school and other unstructured student activity times.
  • Design and promote World Vision and other community service partnerships including teaching in MS discipleship groups.
  • Coordinate discipleship program in collaboration with MS administration and faculty.
  • Lead staff devotions/Bible Study according to FTE.
  • Collect, analyze, and present student and parent feedback on discipleship in collaboration with the Outcomes committee to inform future goals.
