Per Diem Spiritual Counselor position is responsible for providing compassionate spiritual care and support to hospice patients and their families as part of the interdisciplinary care team. Working under the Clinical Manager, the chaplain assesses spiritual needs, coordinates spiritual care services, and ensures support is aligned with each patient's beliefs, values, and plan of care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Studies, or a related field required
- Experience supporting patients and families facing terminal illness
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and principles
- Strong interpersonal, counseling, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated flexibility, cultural and spiritual sensitivity, and a non-denominational approach to care
- Valid driver's license and insured, reliable transportation required
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years of pastoral experience in a hospital or community ministry preferred
- Certificate of Ordination preferred
