About The Position

Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is seeking a full or part-time Spiritual Counselor to join their team in the Santa Barbara area. This role is responsible for providing spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers, either directly or by coordinating with other spiritual counselors. Additionally, the position will support the Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers in the Santa Barbara area. This is an on-site position and not remote.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, Mdiv or equivalent theological degree).
Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
Minimum one (1) year professional work experience in spiritual counseling, ministry or other relevant experience.
Current and maintenance of valid Driver's License.
Maintain clean driving record and auto insurance coverage.
Reliable vehicle to drive during work hours.
Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary team/group.
Comfortable in an interfaith setting.
Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.

Nice To Haves

Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provision of spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers.
Coordination of care with other spiritual counselors.
Recruit, train, and retain new volunteers in the Santa Barbara area, working underneath the Volunteer Coordinator.
