About The Position

VB Spine is seeking a dedicated Spine Specialist to represent and cover Spine surgical cases. This role involves ensuring the professional, efficient, and effective handling of surgical cases. The specialist will be responsible for articulating the proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives, as well as processing instrument sets and paperwork promptly. A key aspect of the role is maintaining and increasing knowledge of VB Spine's instruments, implants, surgical techniques, and procedures. The specialist will also provide support to the sales team, stay informed about new products and competitive activities, manage inventory, and attend sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows. Additionally, they will assist in executing medical education events and completing required reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Mastery of spinal anatomy and anatomical landmarks necessary to instruct a surgeon on the use of VB Spine products.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop and maintain relationships.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to travel to all accounts within assigned territory, as directed by Sales Manager.
  • Must be able to lift and carry multiple surgical trays (minimum 24 lbs).
  • Must be available on 24-hour per day basis, to respond to customer emergencies.
  • This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids.
  • The vision requirements include: close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university, preferred.
  • Surgical Technologist certificate or nursing degree, preferred.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical and/or operating room environment, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Represent and cover Spine surgical cases professionally, efficiently and effectively.
  • Able to succinctly articulate the proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives.
  • Process instrument sets and paperwork efficiently and promptly.
  • Maintain a high and increasing knowledge of our instruments, implants, surgical techniques, and procedures.
  • Keep Sales Representative(s) and Regional Manager informed of territory happenings and progress on a regular basis.
  • Provide support to territory as needed by Sales Representative and Sales Manager.
  • Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers; monitors and gathers information on competitive activity.
  • Manage and maintain inventory.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
  • Assist in execution of Local, Regional and National Medical Education events.
  • Complete all required and requested reports correctly and submit in a timely matter.
