Kennedy Krieger Institute offers more than 55 outpatient clinics, home and community programs, education, research, pediatric neurobehavioral and rehabilitation/feeding inpatient units and a day hospital. This position is 20 hours per week, working Wednesday from 12:30pm-4:30pm (remote) and Thursday and Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN or enrolled in a BSN program to be completed within 2 ½ years of hiring date.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license from Maryland or a compact state.
  • Current CPR certification that included hands on skills.

Nice To Haves

  • minimum of 1 year pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team (PM&R, PT, OT, Neuropsychology, Social Work, Ortho, Urology, and Nephrology) to provide care coordination for pediatric and adult patients with Spina Bifida or other related conditions (i.e. tethered cord).
  • Partner with patients, families, case managers, outside specialists, school nurses, etc. to address yearly medical, imaging, and lab recommendations (as defined by their providers and the Guidelines for the Care of People with Spina Bifida), with an emphasis on fostering sustainability and patient independence.
  • Triage and address patient needs daily through various communication platforms (Epic, E-mail, phone calls).
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary clinic every other week.
