About The Position

This position provides technical leadership, operations and systems engineering, and integration support to the Systems Planning and Technical Leadership Branch (EV71), supporting the Spacecraft Payload Integration & Evolution (SPIE) Lead Systems Engineer team and the SPIE Operations Element Discipline Lead Engineer. The role coordinates with engineering disciplines, system elements, NASA Centers, and program stakeholders to develop and execute operations and systems engineering activities and products for SPIE. The position supports SPIE sub-elements, including Artemis III Spacer hardware, the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS), Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter (LVSA), and Orion Stage Adapter (OSA), as well as work associated with the Space Launch System (SLS), Exploration Ground Systems (EGS), and Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV). It provides technical support across design, integration, verification, testing, evaluation, assembly, and launch operations for applicable SLS mission configurations. The position may provide launch operations support from the SLS Engineering Support Center and requires domestic travel to NASA Centers and contractor facilities. The role assesses technical documentation, supports requirements and verification activities, participates in program and hardware reviews, and leads complex trade studies. The employee represents SPIE Operations leadership at designated boards and develops technical briefings. The work is performed in an office environment and involves extensive computer use, regular interaction with colleagues and NASA clients, and occasional overtime to meet milestones.
