About The Position

The Spice Supervisor is responsible for organizing the flow of work within the Spice Team, ensuring on-time completion of orders, under the direction of the Sr. Manager Plant Performance and Operations, Spice. This role involves overseeing first and second shifts of spice milling, pack and label, and PPO chamber operations. The supervisor will requisition materials, examine products for quality, monitor production processes, and establish work procedures to meet schedules. They will also recommend improvements to production methods and equipment, maintain records, and ensure team accountability for safety, quality, performance, and attendance. Additionally, the supervisor will troubleshoot issues, perform supervised activities as needed, identify training needs, manage daily and weekly efficiency, lead improvement activities, monitor production output, and mentor the team for individual growth.

Requirements

  • Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department
  • Must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Two years minimum related experience in manufacturing and supervisory experience required
  • Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively to his/her departmental employees
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to drive fork truck with certification
  • Must become familiar and proficient with Redzone

Responsibilities

  • Organizing flow of work within the Spice Team
  • Ensuring on time completion of orders
  • Responsible for first and second shifts of spice milling, pack and label, and PPO chamber
  • Requisitioning material required to meet production goals
  • Examining items produced to determine if items meet specifications
  • Monitoring production, changeovers, and cleaning to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Maintaining time and production records in payroll system and ERP system
  • Holding team accountable for safety procedures, quality procedures, performance, and attendance
  • Ensuring all quality checks are completed
  • Suggesting changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
  • Ensuring production downtime is either minimized or eliminated and all material produced is within specification
  • Troubleshooting issues and recruiting the appropriate support functions as needed
  • Performing activities of workers supervised as needed
  • Identifying training needs of those supervised
  • Responsible for daily and weekly efficiency
  • Participating and leading improvement activities
  • Monitoring production output versus standard and provide daily feedback to operators
  • Mentoring the team for individual growth

Benefits

  • Salary Range $65,000 - $80,000 - $95,000
