Part time Speech Therapist
About The Position
Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team and deliver vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. This role is crucial due to a major shortage of related service providers in the city, aiming to help students address communication difficulties and reach academic objectives. The position offers a chance to create a significant impact by engaging with students with varied communication requirements in school environments. As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will have the freedom to deliver individualized therapy utilizing evidence-based methods, partnering with school teams and families to foster student communication development.
Requirements
- Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
- French-speaking ability.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.
- Submission of resume and relevant NYS license/certification.
- Proof of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.

- Ability to provide services in French.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
- Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.
