Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in Speech Pathology, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), or the equivalent of minimum of one-year experience working with adults/children with disorders of neurological origin, including language comprehension, expression, cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, swallowing.
  • Ability to function independently within the department.
  • Valid license in Speech Pathology in the state (where applicable) or actively accumulating the supervisory experience required for license.
  • Registration with the Department of Health or eligible.

  • Recommended Member of Speech Hearing Association.
  • Interested in geriatric rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing therapy to clients in a timely manner per physician’s orders.
  • Communicate progress within the agency of resident progress.
  • Evaluate and treat clients.
  • Communicate with families, physicians and other health team members.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of services.
  • Evaluates clients and formulates effective treatment plan per physician request and obtain approval for services from referring physician.
  • Initiates ordered treatments and communicates with physician regarding client's progress.
  • Maintain proper documentation according to state, federal and third-party payor regulations.
  • Comply with the Speech Language Pathology Practice Act in state.
  • Performs other duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
