About The Position

We are seeking a Speech Therapist responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This role involves conducting communication assessments, providing evidence-based therapy, and educating patients and caregivers on safe swallowing and communication strategies. The therapist will treat patients across various settings including ICU, Inpatient Rehab, NICU, and Pediatrics, addressing a wide range of communication and swallowing needs to enhance quality of life and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  • Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct communication assessments and provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in acute and medically complex settings
  • Provide cognitive-communication therapy targeting attention, memory, executive function, and problem-solving in patients with neurological conditions
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing, communication strategies, and appropriate use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to support functional outcomes
  • Treat patients across ICU, Inpatient Rehab, NICU, and Pediatrics, addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, critical care and other communication needs
  • Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive-linguistic recovery
