About The Position
The Speech Therapist assumes primary responsibility for evaluation of the patient, planning, implementing, supervising, reevaluating and changing the treatment program. The therapist maintains adequate records and documents the appropriate progress reports and patient education. The therapist supervises support staff and students as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the area of Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders
- ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology or eligible to begin CFY with successful completion of nation exam
- Alabama license in Speech Pathology or applicant with licensure pending CFY completion required
- Persons fulfilling the clinical experience (Clinical Fellowship or Fourth-Year Internship) are required to apply for a provisional license with the Board within thirty (30) days of beginning employment or an internship
- Must receive BCLS certification within orientation period
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work with all patients in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Clinical work with adults with speech/language/swallowing/voice disorders
- Training/experience for participation in Modified Barium Swallows
- Training/experience for operation of Videostroboscopic equipment
