About The Position

The Speech Therapist is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, creating a positive first impression, and projecting a positive attitude. The role contributes to the effectiveness of the department/unit by remaining within the acceptable standard of the Agency's Attendance/Tardiness Control Policy. The Speech Therapist assumes responsibility for a patient caseload, demonstrating clinical expertise with specific diagnoses which include speech/language disorders (Phonology, morphology, syntax, etc.) and dysphagia (oral, pharyngeal, esophageal and myofunctional disorders). Speech therapy includes providing assessment, treatment and intervention to patients with speech, voice, language communication, swallowing and related disabilities. The role also involves providing consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the speech disorders. Provision of services that support the effective use of augmentative and alternative communication devices and other communication prostheses and assistive devices. The Speech Therapist evaluates treatment outcomes to assess effectiveness, modifies services in relation to their evaluations, and makes referrals in relation to their outcomes. The role requires documenting the plan of care and all services provided, and maintaining patient records according to Agency policy.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech Therapy
- Current Speech Therapist Certification in the state of operations
- 3+ years experience in Home Health, Acute Care setting or Rehabilitation Facility
