About The Position

The Mead Therapy Center is seeking a PRN Speech Therapist to join their team. This role involves evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders for residents and clients within a life plan community. The therapist will create and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor resident progress, communicate with physicians regarding modifications, and provide education to residents and their families. The Mead Therapy Center is a 3,500-square-foot facility offering both inpatient and outpatient care with state-of-the-art technologies and innovative therapies.

Requirements

A valid FL Speech Therapy license.
A genuine interest in and compassion for older adults.
Ability to demonstrate teamwork – be proactive, resourceful, and collaborative.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate between residents/clients and staff.

Responsibilities

Evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive, communication and swallowing disorders.
Creating and following treatments plans individualized to meet the specific goals of each resident/client.
Accurately recording activities and findings in the clinical record.
Monitoring resident/client performance to ascertain effectiveness of program, communicating with Physician for any plan/goal modifications.
Providing education on treatments to residents/clients and their families.
