About The Position
We are seeking a Speech Pathology Therapist for our Department of Rehab at Southern Regional Medical Center. This is a PRN position with 8-hour shifts available during the day. The role involves the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, as prescribed by a physician. The therapist will also assist in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs to enhance the department.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
- Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
- At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician.
- Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.
