About The Position

This PRN position in the Inpatient Rehab setting involves providing Speech Therapy services to patients. The role includes developing, documenting, and implementing treatment plans for patients with various injuries and ages, and participating in interdisciplinary patient care-team conferences. The therapist will coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The position requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong organizational and time management skills, and a compassionate approach to encourage patient independence and recovery.

Requirements

• Appropriate degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current, valid Speech Therapy license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Mississippi.
• ASHA Membership.
• Must have CCCs or be in active pursuit with attainment within 1 year of employment.
• American Red Cross BLS Certification.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Speech Therapy services to patients in an Inpatient Rehab setting.
• Develop, document, and implement appropriate treatment plans to promote optimal outcomes for patients with a wide range of injuries and ages.
• Participate in regularly scheduled patient care-team conferences to contribute to the interdisciplinary plan of care with therapy goals, patient progress, and discharge recommendations.
• Coordinate patient care with an interdisciplinary team that includes but is not limited to: physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, etc.
