The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members and maintains documentation of services in the medical records.

Requirements

• A master’s or doctoral degree in SLP
• Licensed as an SLP by the state in which they provide services
• Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care
• Licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state
• Must maintain a license in good standing at all time with the state board

Nice To Haves

• In the case of a person who practices in a state that doesn’t license SLPs, they must have: Successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or be in the process of accumulating supervised clinical experience)
• Performed at least 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field
• Successfully completed a national examination in SLP approved by the HHS Secretary
• Employee must meet continue education requirements per state practices
