This role is intentionally different for Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) who have worked in skilled nursing and felt pulled away from their core mission by documentation, productivity standards, and pressure to see more patients. Sprenger Therapy is an in-house, family-owned therapy organization, not a contract therapy company. Our SLPs are provided with the clinical space to evaluate, treat, and genuinely change the lives of residents. The in-house therapy model ensures that clinical decisions serve residents, not a contract company's bottom line. The clinical scope includes dysphagia, cognitive, and communication work, and autonomy is valued, with judgment guiding the care plan. SLPs collaborate with PT, OT, and nursing as an equal voice in the care team, within a stable, family-oriented culture where leadership is present, accessible, and invested in success. Care decisions are guided by outcomes and patient needs, not short-term volume. Therapy teams operate differently, which is reflected in retention and culture.
