Speech Pathologist
About The Position
HSS Rehab and Performance is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated speech language pathologist to join our renowned Speech Therapy Team at HSS. As an integral part of our Pediatric Rehabilitation Team, you will be responsible to perform pediatric outpatient evaluations and treatment, catering to young patients with diverse speech, language, and feeding conditions. Collaborative work with our pediatric physical and occupational therapists is key. This role will encompass direct patient care as well as education of patients/families in plan of care and cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques. Additionally, you will also engage in shared team coverage to support bedside swallow assessments and inpatient treatment within the acute care unit for both the pediatric and adult populations. Requirements
- Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
- NYS Certification as Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
- New York State license SLP licensure.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of three years experience working with a broad range of pediatric diagnoses.
- Advanced experience in speech sound disorders and early language development.
- Training in PROMPT and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC).
- Experience in pediatric dysphagia and feeding therapy, including assessment and treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders.
- Training in the SOS Approach to Feeding® and/or AEIOU.
- Experience supporting infants with feeding challenges, including breastfeeding and bottle-feeding interventions.
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credentials or equivalent infant feeding experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.
Responsibilities
