About The Position

This role involves working as a Speech Pathologist within an integrated and holistic model to enhance child outcomes in early learning settings. The position focuses on partnering with educators, centre staff, and families to support vulnerable children and build their communication, emergent literacy, and social development skills. The role requires travel between multiple Goodstart early learning centres on the Central Coast, NSW.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and coaching skills.
  • Strong understanding of child development (birth - 5 years)
  • Ability to document, analyse and report on relevant key performance indicators.
  • Must have or obtain a valid Working with Children Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Key Word Sign Presenter or Hanen (LLLI or ABC & Beyond) Certification
  • Completed National Child Safety Training

Responsibilities

  • Implement evidence-informed capacity building approaches to enhance outcomes for children and families within the early learning and care setting.
  • Work alongside Centre Directors, Educators and other key stakeholders to observe, identify and support the progression of children’s learning, development and well-being.
  • Communicate and engage regularly with families to support the inclusion and participation of their child.
  • Build linkages with local services and streamline referral pathways into and out of the centre.
  • Attend and participate in Centre Team meetings and contribute to the development of a strong, cohesive team.
  • Maintain close liaison and attend regular supervision with the National Manager – Speech Pathology.
  • Deliver professional development and contribute to reports, briefings, resources as required.
  • Ensure that all administrative requirements are met and maintained in accordance with Goodstart Early Learning policies and procedures.
