We invite you to join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Speech Therapy department at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. This is a Level I Trauma facility and comprehensive stroke center, where you will gain experience with patients from ICU to out-patients. This department stands out for their collaborative team approach with each case which cultivates a supportive environment for both our therapists as well as our patients.

Requirements

  • California Speech Language Pathologist License or Pending CA PT license. License must be in hand by start.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency by ASHA
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of Acute Care experience as a Speech Language Pathologist

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Pathologist provides evaluation, assessment, prognosis, treatment and education to patients and clients through a continuum of care according to the therapist's respective licensure/registration/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures.
  • They perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools and demonstrate age specific care as established for area and job title.
