About The Position

Community Rehabilitation Hospital South is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a PRN position in their Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. The SLP will be responsible for performing and documenting patient assessments, designing and implementing treatment plans, educating patients and families, planning for discharge, and supervising support personnel. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
  • Current Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
