The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates patients referred for appraisal of speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia. They carry out therapy as appropriate, communicate results to patients, parents, and other professionals, and participate in various hospital or community-related activities. The role involves evaluating, planning, and implementing treatment programs for referred patients according to accepted principles and practices of Speech Therapy, and supporting all programs in the Rehabilitation Continuum. This position also requires maintaining working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health professionals, ancillary services, and hospital support personnel. The Speech Language Pathologist is supervised by and reports to the Therapy Manager or Senior Therapist, and supervises assistants, aides, and students.
