About The Position

As a Per Diem Speech Pathologist with Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, you will provide skilled in-home evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will partner with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence, and quality of life through personalized care. The role involves preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in adults, as well as providing aural rehabilitation and augmentative and alternative communication systems when needed. Other duties may be assigned. The hourly pay range is $36.05 to $54.05, based on full-time employment. Pay depends on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Requirements

Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the state assigned.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), with completed graduate coursework and a clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
Current CPR certification.
Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in Speech Pathology.

Responsibilities

Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults.
Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
