About The Position

Provides speech-language pathology services by coordinating consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia. Interprets assessment data and plans and performs speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach maximum potential. Provides patient care to all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric. Responsible for the supervision of rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers, and may be responsible for orientation and ongoing guidance of assigned staff. This PRN position is mainly for weekend coverage (2-4 weekend shifts per month) and during times of high volume, call-outs, or vacation coverage. Will be required to work a minimum of one holiday per year.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Required
  • Direct acute care hospital experience.
  • Proficient in completing Modified Barium Swallow studies.
  • Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology.
  • BLS certification through AHA or ARC Required
