Examine, diagnose, and provide clinical services for patients who may or do have a communication disorder or swallowing disorders, including those of a highly complex and unusual nature. This role involves selecting, administering, and interpreting diagnostic procedures, planning and conducting habilitative and rehabilitative programs, and coordinating results with other professions. The position also includes counseling patients and families, instructing and supervising graduate students, training individuals in other professions, and managing support staff. Additionally, participation in research to develop diagnostic and remedial techniques, maintaining effective working relationships, establishing standards of collaborative interaction, and inspiring others to high performance are key aspects of this role. Identifying opportunities for and creating development plans for employees is also expected.
