About The Position

To provide professional skills in the comprehensive evaluation of patients with speech and language impairments, and to provide habilitative and rehabilitative treatment services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Certification or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association
  • Licensure or eligible for Speech Pathology License from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

Nice To Haves

  • Texas Speech Pathology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • English - bilingual Spanish is helpful, but not required
  • Prior experience in adult outpatient care and medically related clinic
  • Experience with adult neurogenic population and swallowing disorders

Responsibilities

  • Administers and interprets routine and complex tests on adults with speech and language and cognitively impaired patients
  • Plans, conducts, and directs rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication, voice, cognition and swallowing disorders
  • Documents findings, rehabilitative techniques, plan of care and patient progress in electronic medical record
  • Instructs and demonstrates testing procedures and treatments to medical students and residents
  • Senior level staff may also supervises clinical work of support personnel, graduate students and clinical fellows
