About The Position

ACES is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a long-term substitute position at the Shelton NEST. The position is overseen and supervised by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The successful candidate will work with ACES partnering districts as part of a team of educators and should be adaptable to a variety of school settings and able to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, parents, and supervisors. • Bachelor’s degree and/or SLPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy services addressing speech and language treatment goals developed by the supervising SLP for students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Develop and implement activities and materials for teaching and practicing skills that address student goals developed by the supervising SLP.
• Collect ongoing student performance data and report information to the supervising SLP.
• Provide treatment through a variety of service delivery models, including individual, group, and classroom-based, as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Consult with school teams to assist in meeting the needs of specific students.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with research and best practices in speech and language pathology.
