About The Position

The SLPA will provide speech and language services to students in the Hudson Public Schools. This position is accountable for providing support to students with a variety of communication disorders under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. This is a 1-year position.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required
Current Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Professional Licensure, Board of Speech-Language Pathology.
Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

Nice To Haves

Portuguese or Spanish speaking preferred

Responsibilities

Assisting with speech-language screenings (without interpretation).
Assisting with informal documentation as directed by the supervisor.
Following documented treatment plans of protocols developed by the supervisor.
Providing direct speech-language services for students on IEPs and 504.
Documenting student performance (e.g., tallying data for the Speech-Language Pathologist to use, preparing charts, records, and graphs) and reporting this information to the supervisor.
Preparing quarterly progress notes of student progress towards IEP goals to be reviewed by the supervisor and held in student records.
Assisting the Speech-Language Pathologist during assessment of students.
Assisting with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities as directed by the supervisor.
Performing checks and maintenance of equipment.
Collecting data for monitoring quality improvement.
Performs any other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Principal or designee may from time to time assign and delegate.
