About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) provides direct therapy services to clients under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA assists with implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and supporting communication development goals for students receiving speech services.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
  • Active North Carolina SLPA license (or eligibility)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Experience with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, learning disabilities

  • Familiarity with AAC devices and communication systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services under SLP supervision
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Assist with speech, language, and communication activities
  • Collect and document student data and progress notes
  • Prepare therapy materials and activities
  • Collaborate with supervising SLP and IEP team members
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding session activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
