About The Position
School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Lakewood, WA | Full-Time | Middle School Support middle school students while enjoying a stable school schedule and a supportive clinical team!
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of speech language pathology assistant with an Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Current State License to practice Speech-Language Pathology
- Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement speech-language programs designed by the supervising SLP
- Assist with goal development and track student progress through accurate documentation
- Provide feedback to the SLP on student performance and AAC device use
- Communicate regularly with the SLP/Lead SLP and school staff
- Help educate students, families, and school personnel on therapy strategies
- Maintain competency and follow best practices in speech-language support
- Identify additional student needs and refer to the SLP as appropriate
