HealthPRO Pediatrics is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Plymouth, MA! Requirements

  • Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, required. (CCC-SLP)
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA)
  • 1-5 years of experience with young children and families, required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed.
  • Ability to engage in active play and therapeutic activities.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled speech therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment/follow up programs.
  • Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
  • Maintains patient records confidentially.
  • Records treatment charges daily and completes documentation in accurate and timely manner.
  • Complies with the applicable State Speech Therapy Practice Act, codes and regulations.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintains clean work area, clean treatment rooms and requests needed supplies.
  • Maintains professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and other professionals as it relates to collaboration of care for the patient.
  • Keeps regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
  • Directs all patient scheduling matters through the front desk coordinator.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles, techniques, materials and equipment in pediatric speech therapy.
  • Ability to evaluate a patient’s speech therapy needs and communicate the patient’s needs to the legal guardian and/or appropriate parties involved in the patient’s care.
  • Ability to communicate with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD 10 coding procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of speech therapy principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer programs (EMRs).
  • Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students’ speech and language deficits.
  • Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations in the area of speech and language to determine students need for services or need of dismissal from services.
  • Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for speech therapy services.
  • Provide speech therapy sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP.
  • Maintain all documentation required by the district and ASHA’s code of ethics including, but not limited to, daily notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs.
