About The Position

Provides quality Speech-Language Pathology services, consistent with discipline and professional standards, including: prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counselling, treatment, management and education of communication and swallowing disorders; education and supervision of students and professionals; consultation with and referral to other professionals; and research. Maintains professional accountability, professional judgment and reasoning with a high-level of communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited/recognized university
  • Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy
  • Completion of, and ongoing participation in relevant courses, workshops, etc. to address continuing education requirements of CASLPM and specialization required for service provision
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
  • An employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with relevant population
  • CASLPM advanced competency certification in one or more relevant areas is preferred, dependent on the needs of the site/program (e.g., VFSS, tracheostomy, FEES)
  • Membership in other professional organizations is encouraged; for example, Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) or the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
