About The Position

The practice of speech-language pathology at Covenant Hobbs Hospital involves assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of techniques addressing speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The role focuses on meeting the needs of patients and their families. While supervisory guidance is available as needed, a speech-language pathologist is expected to work independently without direct supervision. Requirements

Master's Degree Conferred from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
New Mexico Speech Language Pathologist license (Upon hire).
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Upon hire).
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Upon hire).
2 years Professional experience.

Nice To Haves

Educated or trained in dysphagia assessment and management.
Neonatal Therapist (CCH acute only): Degree from accredited program.
1 year Acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience.
