About The Position

Douglas ESD is accepting applications for a Speech Language Pathologist (K-12). This position serves the schools of Douglas County, and the location of this position is subject to change. This is a 190-day per year, 5-day per week position, to begin in the 2026-27 school year. The salary range is $63,333 - $89,195 per year, dependent upon relevant verifiable experience.

Requirements

  • Requires a valid SLP license from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology prior to the first day of employment, OR a Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) license that has an endorsement for either communication disorders or speech impairment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, therapy, and consultation services in the area of communication disorders.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness, appropriateness, and usefulness of strategies and practices used with students, parents, and staff.
  • Participates as a member of a team (IEP/IFSP, Placement, etc.) and assumes appropriate roles; leads, follows, and supports others in a productive manner.
  • Assesses students' levels of functioning and their therapy needs.
  • Participates in development of IEP/IFSP for each eligible student.
  • Designs, implements, and supervises delivery of instructional programs to meet IEP/IFSP goals.
