About The Position
This is a PRN (as needed) position in the Acute Rehab Services department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves evaluating and treating patients requiring speech-language therapy, performing therapy interventions, educating and counseling patients and families, maintaining clinical records, and planning patient discharge. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including occasional weekend and holiday shifts.
Requirements
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist/Audiologist according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama State Board of Speech Language Pathology required.
- Graduate from an accredited program relevant to professional licensure required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech-language therapy.
- Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
- Educate and counsel patient and family regarding treatment plans.
- Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations.
- Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provide information regarding appropriate support programs.
