About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist in Rio Grande, TX, plays a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This position involves working closely with patients across the lifespan, from children to adults, to develop personalized therapy plans that improve their communication abilities and overall quality of life. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, educators, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care and support. The Speech Language Pathologist will also be responsible for documenting patient progress, educating families, and advocating for patient needs within the healthcare system. Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Texas.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Experience conducting speech and language assessments and providing therapy to diverse patient populations.
• Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapeutic techniques.
• Clinical assessment skills enable the Speech Language Pathologist to accurately diagnose disorders and tailor treatment plans.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitate collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Proficiency in documentation and use of technology ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and efficient patient record management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
• Provide direct therapy services to patients in various settings, including clinics, schools, and home health environments.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and families to coordinate care and support patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and their families about communication disorders and strategies to support improvement outside of therapy sessions.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advances in speech-language pathology.
