Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the United States.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• The required skills enable the Speech Language Pathologist to accurately assess and diagnose communication disorders, ensuring effective treatment planning and intervention.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Clinical expertise allows the practitioner to adapt therapy techniques to individual patient needs and respond to progress or challenges dynamically.

• Experience working with adult populations in clinical, educational, or rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and technology.
• Bilingual abilities or experience working with culturally diverse populations.
• Additional certifications or training in specialized areas such as swallowing disorders (dysphagia) or voice therapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
• Provide direct therapy services to patients in one-on-one or group settings, adjusting techniques as needed to maximize progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and families to coordinate care and provide education on communication strategies.
• Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports for insurance and regulatory compliance.
• Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.
