About The Position
We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a high-acuity inpatient acute care hospital in Gainesville, Florida. This role focuses on evaluation and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will work closely with physicians, nursing teams, and rehabilitation staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care and safe discharge planning.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Florida SLP license.
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with MBS and/or FEES strongly preferred.
- Acute care or hospital-based experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia evaluations.
- Conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and/or FEES (preferred).
- Develop and adjust individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety precautions, and home strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance activities.
