About The Position
The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, plans and implements Speech-Language Pathology treatment programs for referred patients. Performs overall daily operational tasks of Speech-Language Pathology service within the department. Shows respect and courtesy to all staff, patients and visitors.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate school-Required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA or working towards certification, and Licensure by the State of Ohio- Required

- Completion of clinical fellowship year preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Engages in population appropriate communication.
- Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
- Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
- Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
- Evaluate patients using appropriate therapeutic media.
- Develop individualized treatment programs consistent with patient’s diagnosis, status and goals.
- Document patient evaluation, status, progress and discharge per approved procedures.
- Implement the treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Monitor patient’s response and modifies plan as needed.
- Represent the hospital/department at community speech, Speech and Hearing Director and Graduate Students Practicum Advisory Board Meetings.
- Contribute to the clinical and academic education of medical students, residents, and undergraduate Speech Language Pathology students and students within the College of Allied Health.
