About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a school-based position with Exceptional Learners Collaborative in Vernon Hills, IL. You’ll support students by providing speech and language services that directly impact communication and learning. This role is ideal for both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (CFs), with strong mentorship provided. The position involves supporting students with articulation, language, fluency, and social communication. It requires conducting assessments, writing evaluation reports, developing and implementing IEP goals and therapy plans, participating in IEP meetings, and collaborating with school teams, teachers, and families. Maintaining timely documentation and monitoring student progress are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

• Valid Illinois State SLP license (or ability to obtain)
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School SLP endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
• Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

• Clinical Fellows (CFs) encouraged to apply
• School-based experience preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language therapy services in a school setting
• Conduct assessments and write comprehensive evaluation reports
• Develop and implement IEP goals and therapy plans
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school teams
• Support students with articulation, language, fluency, and social communication
• Partner with teachers and families to support carryover of skills
• Maintain timely documentation, progress notes, and compliance records
• Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
