About The Position

Spark Lifecare is expanding to Halifax, Nova Scotia in Summer of 2026 and is seeking to recruit Speech-Language Pathologists to provide superior care to their clients. The role involves serving a diverse caseload of clients in Halifax and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), including those with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Complex Medical Diagnoses, Voice and Fluency issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Developmental Delays. Clients require assessment and treatment for cognitive-communication disorders, speech intelligibility challenges, and communication skills related to various needs and challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist, a reliable vehicle for community visits, and ideally experience in language/communication delays, autism spectrum disorders, and working with clients with neurological diagnoses.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Reliable vehicle to visit clients in their home or other community locations.
  • Registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP).
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. ability to work in MS Word and Outlook).
  • Experience providing SLP assessment and treatment in a community setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the areas of language/communication delays.
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Interest in working with clients with a range of neurological diagnoses.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Speech-Language Pathology services to a diverse caseload of clients in Halifax and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
  • Conduct assessment and treatment for cognitive-communication disorders, speech intelligibility challenges, and communication skills.
  • Visit clients in their homes or other community locations.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize management software, online booking systems, and digital charting.
  • Participate in client matching process to foster strong therapeutic relationships.
  • Refer new team members to help grow the team.
