About The Position

Douglas Education Service District is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for their Early Intervention department, serving children from birth to three years old in the schools of Douglas County. This program runs year-round and requires work hours during the summer. The position is for 190 days in the 2026-27 school year, with 5 days per week and 8 hours per day, plus an additional 25 extra paid days during the summer. The location of this position can be subject to change.

Requirements

Valid SLP license from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology prior to the first day of employment, OR a Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) license with an endorsement for either communication disorders or speech impairment.
Relevant verifiable experience (for salary determination).

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive assessment, therapy, and consultation services in the area of communication disorders.
Analyze the effectiveness, appropriateness, and usefulness of strategies and practices used with students, parents, and staff.
Participate as a member of a team (IEP/IFSP, Placement, etc.) and assume appropriate roles; lead, follow, and support others in a productive manner.
Assess students' levels of functioning and their therapy needs.
Participate in the development of IEP/IFSP for each eligible student.
Collect, record, and evaluate therapy data.
Design, implement, and supervise the delivery of instructional programs to meet IEP/IFSP goals.
Effectively manage student behavior.
