Speech Language Pathologist (Per Diem) - Inpatient Rehab
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our state-of-the-art Inpatient Rehab Unit within Hartford Hospital. This unit features 26 beds in private inpatient rooms, providing patients with access to ongoing acute medical management, 24-hour rehabilitative nursing care, and the latest rehab techniques. Our patient-centered approach, coupled with a healing environment, aims to shorten length of stay and facilitate a quicker, healthier return home. The SLP will treat patients with various diagnoses, focusing on stroke, traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries, and other neurological conditions, within a collaborative interdisciplinary team atmosphere.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university.
- State of Connecticut License in Speech/Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Experience required.
- Must work 2 shifts/month.
Nice To Haves
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience highly preferred.
- Preference to weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Independently evaluates patient’s level of function.
- Determines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals.
- Determines treatment strategies and delivers Speech Language Therapy services that identify, restore, and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing to maximize a patient’s safety and independence.
