About The Position

We're looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with an interest in Assistive Technology and Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) to join a supportive school district for the 2026-2027 school year. This unique part-time opportunity is perfect for an SLP who enjoys helping students access communication through innovative technology. You'll work closely with students and educational teams across the district to support the implementation, evaluation, and ongoing use of AAC and other assistive technology tools.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Illinois SLP licensure, if applicable
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AAC and assistive technology is preferred, but clinicians with a strong interest in this specialty are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistive technology and AAC evaluations and recommendations
  • Support students using AAC devices and communication systems
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, occupational therapists, and other related service providers
  • Train school staff and families on AAC implementation and best practices
  • Assist with programming, troubleshooting, and monitoring communication devices
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide documentation related to assistive technology services
  • Help ensure students have the communication tools they need to succeed both academically and socially
