Provides services to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and/or adult populations. Provides direct speech-language services. Essential Functions: Provides consultation for patients, such as those with neurological disorders, voice disorders, and closed head/traumatic brain injuries. Performs and interprets tests. Provides diagnostic and therapy services that reflect evidence-based practice. Provides counseling, education, and guidance to patients and their families regarding disorder(s). Adapts existing resources to meet patient and caregiver needs. Maintains comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR) for each patient. Communicates through written reports, flowsheet documentation, and other EMR specific tools. Recommends changes in standard departmental practices. Other duties as assigned.
