About The Position

Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Kitchener Branch, seeks a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to join our growing team. This is a casual per visit role, offered as an employee or independent contractor permanent position. It involves community work with a mix of in-person and virtual client visits, offering a flexible schedule where you can work Monday-Friday, weekends, or a combination. The scheduling area includes Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, and Wellington County. The role offers a competitive per visit rate plus a non-clinical hourly rate for work activities and trainings. As an employee, you will receive a compensation package with sick pay, vacation pay, RRSP, and health benefits. Alternatively, an independent contractor contract is available. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.
  • 2-3 years experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred.
  • Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments is an asset.
  • Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Utilize your expertise to diagnose a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized, evidence-based therapy plans that cater to each client’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other allied health professionals, such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers, to provide holistic and integrated care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure meticulous and up-to-date client records, adhering to all regulatory standards.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay ahead in your field by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Educate and Empower Clients: Provide clients and their families with effective strategies to support communication and swallowing functions, enhancing their quality of life.
  • Maintain active standing in College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
  • Complete other tasks as requested
