About The Position

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a per diem/part-time rehabilitation assignment within a correctional healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating and treating patients with communication and speech-related disorders while working collaboratively within rehabilitative care programs.

Requirements

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist degree and active New York State licensure required
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a structured healthcare environment
• Background check and fingerprinting required prior to start

Nice To Haves

• Previous rehabilitation or inpatient experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitative treatment plans
• Participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs and patient care planning
• Recommend and coordinate additional support services as needed
• Conduct special education assessments and present findings when required
• Recommend and train patients on alternative communication systems
• Participate in speech and language research initiatives as applicable
