Requirements

  • Great verbal, written, listening, and excellent communication skills.

  • Oral and written language proficiency.
  • Attention to detail and good record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of a variety of assessment tools.
  • Collaborative attitude.
  • Familiarity with developmental language skills.
  • Master’s degree in communication Disorders (Clinical Fellowships considered).
  • Speech Language Pathologists MUST have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and a state license which needs to be renewed as required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and social communication disorders.
  • Provide standardized tests and other instruments to properly diagnose.
  • Interpret results of evaluations.
  • Identify treatment options.
  • Create and carry out Individualized Plan of Care.
  • Maintain Active Plan of Cares.
  • Administrative tasks such as keeping accurate records and supervision.
  • Treat speech, language, and pragmatic communication disorders.
  • Provide training and education to family/ caregivers and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines.
  • Supervise Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and Clinical Fellowship students (CFYs).
